From The DNC
At the Democratic National Committee Winter Meeting held earlier this month in Washington, D.C., Arizona Democratic Party Chairman David Waid was elected to the Executive Committee of the DNC. The Committee, composed of 67 members, meets quarterly & has responsibility over the operational affairs of the national Democratic Party between meetings of the full DNC.
βI am excited, honored, & looking forward to representing Western Democrats on the committee,β said Waid. βAt this time when the parties on both sides should be laying the groundwork for the presidential election, this opportunity will help the Arizona Democratic Party communicate on a national level.β
Waid was elected by the Western Region Democratic Party Chairs & Vice-Chairs to serve as their representative to the DNC Executive Committee. The Western region includes 13 states: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, & Wyoming.
By virtue of his election to the DNC Executive Committee, Waid will also serve on the Executive Committee of the Association of Democratic Chairs, an 18-member body led by Mark Brewer, Chair of the Michigan Democratic Party.
