Wrestler Mike Awesome Passes
Mike Awesome, real name Michael Alfonso, was found by his friends at approximately 10:30 p.m. Saturday night when they showed up to pick him up to go out. What they found when 42-year old Alfonso didn't answer the door was him, hanging in his home. Before retiring in 2005, he started with Frontier Martial-Arts Wrestling in 1990 and would wrestle for Eastern Championship Wrestling, World Championship Wrestling, World Wrestling Federation, All Japan Pro Wrestling, NWA: Total Nontstop Action, & Major League Wrestling. His last match was against Masato Tanaka at WWE's tribute to ECW: One Night Stand, where he used his signature Powerbomb for the victory. His other names in the other wrestling promotions were: The Pro (PWF), The Gladiator (FMW), "Awesome" (ECW), "That 70s Guy" (WCW), "The Canadian Career-Killer" (WCW), Mike Awesome (ECW/WCW/WWF).
