Weekend Freeway Restrictions

The Az Dept of Transportation (ADOT) says the following freeway restrictions are scheduled in the Phoenix area this weekend (Feb. 9-12):

Westbound I-10 narrowed to 2 lanes between Baseline Rd & 40th St from 6 am Sat. - 7 p.m. Sun. (Feb. 11) to prepare the freeway for rubberized asphalt resurfacing later this spring. US 60 carpool lane ramp to westbound I-10 also closed. Westbound I-10 drivers should consider using alternate routes, including the eastbound Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) to northbound Loop 101 & westbound Loop 202 (Red Mtn Freeway) to bypass the I-10 work zone.

Eastbound US 60 (Superstition Freeway) narrowed to 2 lanes (left lane closed) between Val Vista Drive & Higley Rd from 10 p.m. Fri. - 5 am Mon. (Feb. 12) for pavement repair. Drivers are urged to be prepared to merge safely approaching the work zone.

Westbound I-10 closed from 7th Street to 7th Ave. from 11 p.m. Sat. - 9 a.m. Sun. (Feb. 11) for maintenance work inside the Deck Park Tunnel. The ramp from southbound State Route 51 to westbound I-10 & the ramp from westbound Loop 202 to westbound I-10 also closed. Westbound I-10 traffic exiting at 7th St will be detoured along McDowell Rd & reconnect with I-10 at 7th Ave. Alternate Route: Westbound I-10 drivers are encouraged to use northbound I-17 starting at the Split interchange near Sky Harbor Airport & the reconnect with I-10 at the 'Stack' interchange north of Adams St.

Loop 101 (Agua Fria Freeway) in West Valley narrowed to 2 lanes (left lanes closed) in both directions between Northern & Olive avenues from 6 am - 6 pm on Sat. & Sun. (Feb. 10-11) for median & cable barrier improvements. Drivers are urged to use caution & be prepared to merge safety approaching the work zone.

I-10 narrowed to 1 lane in each direction (left lanes closed) near Litchfield Road from 10 pm Sat. - 5 a.m. Sun. (Feb. 11) for concrete barrier work. Drivers are urged to use caution & be prepared to merge safely approaching the work zone.

Ramp from southbound Loop 101 to eastbound I-10 in the West Valley closed from 9 p.m. Sun. - 5 am Mon. (Feb. 12) for pavement repair. Drivers who normally use that ramp can exit southbound Loop 101 at McDowell Road & use 91st or 99th avenues to access eastbound I-10.
