Teen Maze

In 2004, there were 48 pregnant teenage girls aged 17 or younger. The Gila Co. Division of Health & Community Services plans to address this issue by presenting the Teen Maze, “LIFE - ARE YOU READY?”. This life sized interactive maze is designed for 8th -12th grade students & will be held March 7th & 8th, at the Gila Co. Fairgrounds in Globe. This life sized interactive maze was developed by the Southern Az. Chapter of the Az. Coalition on School-age parenting. Based on chance, it provides teens with an imaginary experience on the responsibility of decision making & potential ramifications of early sexual involvement such as pregnancy & sexually transmitted diseases. The maze provides medically accurate info & is a useful tool to stimulate parent/child discussions in which parents can instill their values. Schools were invited to attend the maze & participating schools will be sending home permission forms. All Parents & their teens are invited to attend the parent preview night March 7th, from 5 pm - 7 pm. They are also seeking volunteers for this event.
