In March Archaeology & Women's History Presentations @ Riordan Mansion
Riordan Mansion State Historic Park will present archaeology & women's history presentations in March.
On March 10th at 7 p.m., the Evening Slide Presentation Series will celebrate Arizona Heritage & Archaeology Awareness Month with " Rock Art on the Colorado Plateau." Neil Weintraub, Kaibab National Forest archaeologist, will discuss the variety of rock art styles found on the Coconino Plateau south of the Grand Canyon. He'll also discuss how the distribution of rock art styles may support recent archaeological evidence in support of the migration of the Cohonina from the Coconino Plateau during the late 11th & early 12th century. On March 13th at 12:15 p.m., the Brown Bag Lunch Lecture will celebrate Women's History Month with "En Vogue: 90 Years of Riordan Women's Fashion." Adrienne Rose, volunteer & textile historian, will discuss popular styles of women's clothing from the late 1880s through the 1960s. This program's a slide presentation featuring garments worn by 3 generations of Riordan women.

Regular entrance fees are $6 for adults, $2.50 for children ages 7 to 13, children ages 6 & younger are free. Riordan Mansion is located next to NAU in Flagstaff on Riordan Road.
