Winkelman Pledges Funds to Southern Gila Co. Economic Dev. Corp.
The Town Council of Winkelman pledged $5000 to the Southern Gila County Economic Development Corporation at the Town Council meeting Mon. evening, Jan. 8th.
“Mayor Manuel Aguirre & our council understand the importance of economic development for our community,” said Sylvia Kerlock, Town Clerk of Winkelman. “We have annexed land we feel is excellent for economic development & we want to develop our river park. We are excited about the possibilities for Winkelman & look forward to working with the EDC to enhance our community.”
EDC Chairman Ed Carpenter narrated a PowerPoint presentation that outlined the EDC’s plans for economic development. Included in the presentation were the proposed EDC budget for 2007 & the benefits that 100 manufacturing jobs can bring to a community. “We sincerely thank Mayor Aguirre & the Town Council of Winkelman for their support,” said Chairman Carpenter. “They share our vision for future generations of the Southern Gila County Community & we applaud their commitment & wisdom.”
