Town Of Hayden Supports SGCEDC

The Town of Hayden will support the Southern Gila Co. Economic Development Corp. (SGCEDC) to the tune of $10,000 in 2007. The Town Council voted to make the appropriation at their meeting Tues., Jan. 16th.

“We want to thank Mayor Monica Badillo, the Town Council, & the citizens of Hayden for their wonderful support,” said Southern Gila Co. Economic Development Executive Director, Chris Martin. “Hayden understands what we are trying to do in Southern Gila Co. & they realize that we all have to work together to ensure a bright future for our young people.”

“We are facing a number of issues in Hayden & throughout Southern Gila Co. including adequate housing, infrastructure, & jobs,” said Mayor Badillo. “The Southern Gila Co. EDC is working to help address theses issues & our Council & citizens support that. We want to help in any way we can to enhance our community.”

At the Council Meeting, Ed Carpenter, chairman of the EDC, narrated a PowerPoint presentation that outlined the EDC’s plans for economic development. Included in the presentation were the proposed EDC budget for 2007 & the benefits that 100 manufacturing jobs can bring to a community.
