Paul Rusesabagina To Speak At The NAU Campus
Paul Rusesabagina, inspiration for the movie Hotel Rwanda, saved the lives of over 1,200 people during the Rwandan genocide of 1994. He'll be sharing his story “Hotel Rwanda: A Lesson Yet to Be Learned” on Jan. 27th, at 10 a.m. at the Ardrey Auditorium on the N.A.U. campus.
Rusesabagina is the recipient of the U.S. Presidential Medal of Freedom & author of the autobiography, An Ordinary Man. Copies of the book will be available at a signing following the presentation.
The event's sponsored by the Martin Springer Institute at N.A.U. MSI is committed to using the lessons of the Holocaust to promote moral courage, altruism, & tolerance.
"Rusesabagina represents the common man, an individual who did not set out to make a difference or to save lives," said Gretchen McAllister, director of MSI. "His story illustrates moral courage as a citizen of local & global communities."
