Minor League Player Suspended

The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced that Minor League player Maikol Mesa, who most recently had been a member of the Cincinnati Reds organization, has been suspended for 50 games for testing positive for a performance-enhancing substance in violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention & Treatment Program. His suspension would take effect immediately upon signing with another Major League organization.
