CANTEX Coming To Kingman
CANTEX Inc. announced today it had closed on a 30-acre site in Kingman, Arizona where it will build a state-of-the-art manufacturing & distribution facility.
"We are pleased that a world class manufacturer like Cantex has chosen to locate in Arizona," says Az. Dept. of Commerce Director Gilbert Jimenez. "The decision to locate in Kingman brings new manufacturing jobs to the city & an important source of electrical grade pvc products to the state."
CANTEX, Inc. is a leading producer of PVC conduit & electrical products. Extrusion, injection molding & fabrication facilities generate a broad line of products which serve the power, utility, building construction & communication markets.
Over 40 years ago, CANTEX, Inc. began as a division of a national corporation in the utility & building construction industry. In 1992,CANTEX was acquired by Sumitomo Corporation of America (SCOA), a fully integrated trading & investment enterprise with offices in 10 major US cities. SCOA is the largest wholly owned subsidiary of Sumitomo Corporation, Tokyo, Japan.
CANTEX, Inc. currently operates 8 manufacturing plants & 2 distribution centers. Headquartered in Forth Worth, Texas, CANTEX Inc.'s operations facilities are located throughout the U.S., Reno, Nevada; Rolla, Missouri; Aurora, Ohio; 2 in Auburndale, Florida; & 3 in Mineral Wells, Texas.
The new Arizona plant will be the company's 6th location, 9th & 10th manufacturing facility & 3rd distribution center. It will join Reno in producing PVC conduit & will be their 1st fabricated fitting plant & distribution center located on the West Coast.
With the design of the facility focused on increasing productivity & enhancing cost-competitiveness, it will incorporate technologically advanced manufacturing equipment & state-of-the-art operating systems. CANTEX Inc. plans to start operations in Aug. 2007.
