Boyce Thompson Arboretum Activity This Weekend

Celebrate Arizona State Parks' 50th Anniv. with monthly events throughout 2007 across the Grand Canyon State. The Boyce Thompson Arboretum is a State Park & this Sat., Jan. 6th, they have special history-themed walking tours at 10 a.m. & 1 p.m. to learn about the life & times of Col. William Boyce Thompson & development of his namesake, the Arboretum. At 11:30 a.m. visitors can meet Arboretum Director Mark Bierner & Az State Parks Director Ken Travous & celebrate the 50th Anniv. with cake & coffee, then at 3 p.m. Arizona author Jack San Felice will give a slideshow lecture about turn-of-the-century silver mining in this area.
