Riordan Mansion State Historic Park Decorates For The Holidays

Decorated in turn-of-the-century holiday décor, Riordan Mansion State Historic Park offers tours & holiday cheer in Dec. For the month of Dec., the Mansion is festively decorated in turn-of-the-century style with wreaths, garlands, greenery & a towering fir tree trimmed with old-fashioned ornaments. Guided tours include glimpses of folklore & traditions of Christmas.

On Dec. 9th, from 9 to 11 a.m., join them for a Christmas Party & Crafts in the Visitor Center. Santa will be on hand to give out candy & Mrs. Claus will read Christmas stories to the children. In addition, there will be crafts for the children to make & take home, as well as Christmas music & general good cheer. To help fend off the cold, hot cider & cake will be served. The entrance fee will be waived for this event.

On Dec. 12th, at 12:15 p.m., the Brown Bag Lunch Lecture will feature Park Ranger Nikki Lober & the "History of Christmas Traditions."

Riordan Mansion State Historic Park will be open daily throughout the holiday season. Winter hours are 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Riordan Mansion tours begin each hour. The 1st tour is at 11 a.m. & the last tour is at 4 p.m. Tour reservations are recommended. To make a reservation, call (928) 779-4395.

Regular entrance fees are $6 for adults, $2.50 for children ages 7 to 13, children ages 6 & younger are free. Riordan Mansion is closed Christmas Day. Riordan Mansion is located next to N.A.U. in Flagstaff on Riordan Road. For more info about the events at Riordan Mansion call (928) 779-4395.
