Brandon Webb Wins Cy Young Award
The Baseball Writers Association of America have announced that Brandon Webb was voted as the winner of the 2006 National League Cy Young Award. Webb received 103 points based on a 5-3-1 point system, with San Diego's Trevor Hoffman finishing 2nd with 77 points, including 12 1st place votes. St. Louis starter Chris Carpenter was 3rd in the voting with 63 points, including two 1st place votes. This marks the 5th Cy Young Award winner in the 9-year history of the Diamondbacks.
