Third & Fourth Human Pinal Co. WNV Cases
Pinal Co. health officials reported that a woman from the Coolidge area & a child from the Casa Grande area are the 3rd & 4th human cases of West Nile virus (WNV) reported in the county for 2006. Both are recovering & are being investigated by the Pinal Co. Division of Public Health.
Two other human cases of WNV had been reported previously in Pinal Co. in the greater Coolidge & San Manuel areas. In addition, a horse from the greater Florence area had been reported as being positive for WNV; the horse was euthanized.
