Public Winter Weather Meeting

The Globe District of the Az Dept. of Transportation (ADOT) will hold a public meeting, Nov. 1st, at 1:30 p.m. at the Show Low Show Public Library, 180 N. 9th Street, Show Low in Show Low to discuss how the agency addresses winter road conditions. The Globe District covers the Globe/Miami, Show Low/Pinetop, St. John’s, Heber/Overgaard, Snowflake/Taylor, Springerville/Eagar & White Mountain Apache areas of eastern Arizona.

ADOT engineers will discuss de-icing agents, snow-plowing procedures, safety tips for drivers, & highway closures due to weather. This year’s Winter Weather Meeting is of special significance because of projections of higher than normal moisture due to El Niño conditions in the Pacific Ocean.

This is an opportunity for members of the public & the media to learn about ADOT’s process for handling snow & ice on state highways.
