District 1 Debates

Democratic Nominee Ellen Simon will participate in 2 candidate forums – 1 in Greenlee & Apache counties – on Wed., Oct. 18th. The 1st forum will be held in Clifton beginning at noon. The Clifton forum will be followed by a 2nd forum in Eagar beginning at 5 p.m. Simon will be joined at both forums by Libertarian David Schlosser. However, incumbent Rick Renzi will be a “no show” at both debates.

Talking about the forums, Simon said, “I look forward to participating in both forums. These candidate forums represent the democratic process in action; they will provide the residents of Greenlee & Apache counties with the opportunity to see where 2 of their candidates stand on the issues that are important to them.” Simon continued, “It is regrettable that Rick Renzi has chosen not to participate in these debates. The residents of Greenlee & Apache counties have the right to hear directly from all their candidates, & Rick Renzi – as the incumbent – has a duty to the citizens of these counties to defend his record in person.”
