U.S . Rep. Rick Renzi (AZ-1) today announced he will donate any campaign contributions he received from Congressman Bob Ney (OH-18) to local charities.

"I am deeply disappointed by today's revelations surrounding Mr. Ney, & will donate any contributions I received from him to charity" said Congressman Renzi. "I'm confident these charities will put these funds to good use & help improve the lives of many families & veterans in our area."

Rep. Bob Ney admitted improperly accepting tens of thousands of dollars worth of trips, meals, sports tickets and casino chips while trying to win favors for a disgraced Washington lobbyist and a foreign aviation company run by a gambler known as "the Fat Man." Ney agreed to plead guilty to making false statements & conspiracy to commit fraud, make other false statements & violate U.S. lobbying restrictions. The charges could carry a prison sentence of up to 10 years & fines of up to $500,000 plus repayment of any improper gifts.
