San Carlos Apache Youth Pageant
The San Carlos Youth Pageant Program will be held on October 27th & 28th, 2006, at the Burdette Memorial Hall in San Carlos, Arizona. Each year they have over 30 young, bright, beautiful Apache children from ages 6 months to 16 years participate in the San Carlos Youth Pageant program. This culture rich event features each participant in traditional attire & talent. The program showcases the young children’s knowledge of their Apache traditions, language, & culture in a positive environment.
Preparation has begun for this year’s San Carlos Apache Youth Pageants & the committee would like to announce the following dates & information for this year’s pageant program. Categories for the program are as follows: Baby Boy/Baby Girl of the Year-ages 6 months to 3 years old; San Carlos Apache Princess-ages 4 to 7 years old; Missy San Carlos Apache-ages 8 to 12 years old; & JR Miss San Carlos Apache-ages 13 to 16 years old.
All participants must wear their traditional Apache attire & their talent presentation must incorporate some aspect of their Apache culture &/or tradition. There will only be one (1) Parent/Guardian/Coach allowed backstage during the pageant. A complete list of the participation agreement & rules will be attached to the application.
Applications for all categories will be available beginning Mon., Sept. 18th, 2006. Deadline to submit “Page 1” of the application is Fri., Oct. 6th, 2006. An original Certificate of Indian Blood (CIB) with the San Carlos Apache Tribe must be attached. The 2nd portion of the application which includes descriptions of traditional attire & talent must be submitted by Fri., Oct. 20th, 2006.
