Gila County Fair Entertainers
After 39 years as Arizona’s Official Balladeer, Dolan Ellis still holds the title 1st given to him by Governor Sam Goddard in February 1966, & has continued to be nominated by consecutive governors. Dolan Ellis has received many awards such as the Grammy, gold records, the Arizona Tourism Hall of Fame & the 1st to be inducted as an Arizona Culture Keeper. As an original member of the New Christie Minstrels, a famous folk singing group, Dolan’s music is now the embodiment of Arizona & the American West. After 40 years & 300 songs later Dolan Ellis is still going strong. Dolan is set to perform on Sat., Sept. 16th from 3 - 4 p.m. & again at 5:30 p.m.
The Bost Family Tradition is a 6 piece bluegrass band described as the “quintessential family bluegrass band.” The Bost Family plays bluegrass festivals, community events & churches full-time for the past 2 years all over Arizona, New Mexico & Colorado. They represent a unique blend of gospel, hymns, classic bluegrass, & cowboy songs with traditional instruments, combined with soul-stirring family vocals make for great entertainment. The Bost Family will play Thurs., Sept 16th at 7 p.m. at the Gila County Fair.
In 2005 Tiffany Jo was nominated by the Academy of Western Arts for the Rising Star & Yodeler of the Year. In 2006 Tiffany Jo won the 2006 Nashville Colgate Country Competition in Sedona, Arizona. As an 11 year old she won the Title of International Yodeling Champion in the 17 & younger category of the Western Music Association competition in Wichita, Kansas. She has helped raise thousands of dollars performing at various events such as the MDA, The United Way, Red Cross & the Tucson Medical Center to name a few, as well as countless nursing homes & care facilities. Tiffany Jo can be seen at the Gila County Fair on Fri., Sept 15th at 6 p.m.
