Bisbee Artists Studio Tour October 7th & 8th
The Bisbee Arts Commission is sponsoring a tour of 11 artists' private studios in the Tombstone Canyon area of Old Bisbee. This is a great opportunity to step into the hillside homes, studios & lives of the artists featured on this year’s tour. This will be a self-guided walking tour with some shuttle transportation provided to take you to some of the more distant locales.
See the varied & unique styles in the paintings of artists Paul Bovee, Gisa David, Laurie Kintzele, Charles Marie, Kate Pearson, & Sam Woolcott; the detailed work by illustrator/designer, Larry Milam; sculpture & mixed media described as "sleight-of-hand" artifacts" by Poe Dismuke; sculpture & architectural design with concern for ecology created by Todd Bogatay; the black & white, & hand-colored photographs by Boyd Nicholl; & the fine wood-turned bowls of David Hallman.
Make a leisurely day (or 2) of it & enjoy the hillside homes & vistas as you wind your way through the little neighborhood streets "up the canyon" in Old Bisbee.
Artists will welcome you into their studios on Sat. & Sun. from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Oct. 7th & 8th, Columbus Day weekend.
Tickets are $5 each. Tickets & details are available at the Bisbee Visitor Center. A van can take you up Tombstone Canyon & to some of the more distant locations. It is advisable to wear comfortable shoes as there will be a good bit of walking in this self-guided tour. There are stairs on the walk. A preferred route is marked on a map you will receive when you purchase a ticket. Docents can advise you of alternate routes.
