ADOT Hosts Hearing Sept. 6 For Planned Loop 303
The planned extension of the Loop 303 between Happy Valley Road & I-17 in the north Valley will be the topic of a public hearing in Glendale tomorrow from 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at the Sandra Day O’Connor High School Cafeteria at 25250 N. 35th Ave., in Glendale.
The Arizona Department of Transportation says the hearing provides residents with a chance to learn more about the proposed alignment for the section of the Loop 303 that would connect with I-17 at a new interchange 2 miles south of the Carefree Highway. The planned alignment was developed through environmental studies involving the public & federal, state & local agencies.
A brief presentation will take place at 6:30 p.m. to provide guests with an overview of the environmental study & roadway improvements associated with the northern portion of Loop 303. The proposed extension of Loop 303 would start from the existing Loop 303/Happy Valley Road intersection & travel both north & west to the planned connection with I-17 at Lone Mountain Road.
The Loop 303 is part of a voter-approved 20-year Regional Transportation Plan that went into effect this year. Plans call for construction of the Loop 303 interchange along I-17 to begin near the end of 2007.
