Ex-NASCAR Driver Hurt In Wreck
Last Saturday, Jeff Purvis suffered a broken neck & a couple of broken ribs in a crash after the rig carrying his race car crossed the median, struck an oncoming car & burst into flames. Six people were riding in the rig, which carried Purvis' family, his crew & race car. A front tire blew out as the rig passed through Cullman, causing the vehicle to swerve, cross the median & collide with a car. Seven people, including Purvis' wife & 15-year-old son, were injured in the crash, 3 of them seriously. The injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.
