Pinal Water Group Meeting In Coolidge
The Local Area Impact Assessment Group (LAIAG) for Pinal County will hold its initial
meeting July 18th in Coolidge.
Creation of the LAIAGs in each county stems from a recommendation of the Governor’s
Drought Task Force in its Arizona Drought Preparedness Plan. The LAIAGs coordinate
drought public awareness, provide impact assessment information to local & state leaders, & develop & implement local mitigation & response options.
The purpose of the 1st Pinal County LAIAG meeting is to provide information on:
• The drought preparedness plan.
• The role of LAIAGs.
• Local drought monitoring.
• Regional drought planning.
At the meeting, participants from each water-use sector will discuss a proposed organizational structure for the Pinal County LAIAG.

The Az Dept. of Water Resources, in cooperation with the Pinal County Cooperative Extension Office, Pinal County Board of Supervisors, & Natural Resource Conservation Districts, will provide technical support & assistance to the Pinal County LAIAG.
