Bomb Threats
On July 20th, at approx., 1453 hrs, the Gila Co. Sheriff's Office conducted a investigation into 2 seperate phone calls from an unknown suspect or suspects in reference to a possible bomb threat. The alleged bomb threat was not directed toward any personnel, office, or facility within the court house. Calls were received through the Gila Co. Attorney's Office.
The Gila Co. Sheriff's Office & the Gila Co. Attorney's Office then began evacuation procedures of the Gila County Court House. The Globe PD assisted with the security of the building. The Gila Co. Sheriff's K-9 Unit was dispatched. Two Explosive Ordinance Detection K-9's were deployed into the Court House. The Court House wa cleared & searched. No explosives were located. Court House employees were then allowed back into the Court House. The investigation is ongoing by the Gila Co. Sheriff's Office.
