Bartlett Dam Road Closed Due To Flash Floods
Due to flash flooding yesterday, Bartlett Dam Road is closed at its junction with Cave Creek Road. The west-bound lane of the road was damaged by flash floods. Debris from last night’s storm is blocking the road in several locations.
People who are recreating in the Bartlett Dam Road area will be able to depart using the road; however, access into the recreation area along this road is currently closed.
The Cave Creek Ranger District, located on Bartlett Dam Road, is closed to walk-in traffic until further notice. The district office will resume normal business hours, M-F, & can be contacted by telephone only at 480-595-3300 for further information.
Bartlett Dam Road is a Maricopa County Department of Transportation road, located on the Cave Creek Ranger District, Tonto National Forest. It is unknown at this time when repairs to the road will be completed or when the road will be re-opened.
Seven Springs Road (Forest Road 24) also sustained storm damage last night. Forest officials advise using only high-clearance vehicles on this road until repairs are made.
