Arnold G. Rojas Obituary

Lifelong Miami resident, Arnold G. Rojas, age 82, passed away Wednesday, July 5th, at Banner Desert Medical Center. He was born on February 13, 1924 in Miami, Arizona. Arnold proudly served in the United States Navy for 2 years during World War II. After the war he began working as a miner for Inspiration Consolidated Copper Company in Miami. During his 43 years with the mine he held positions as laborer, foreman & general foreman of the Smelter. He served as president of the Mine Mill Union Local & during the 60's took a position working for the company as a general foreman. This opened the door for future Hispanics to work in salaried supervision positions.

Arnold was a member of Our Lady of Blessed Sacrament; he was also involved in several community, church charities & organizations. He was awarded Citizen of the Year for Gila County in 1992 for his community service including his Town Council Appointment. He was a lifetime member of the Local VFW, Knights of Columbus and supporter of the local Lions Club.

Visitation: Today, at 6 P.M. Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament, 914 Sullivan Street, Miami.

Rosary: Tonight at 7 P.M. Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament

Service: Tomorrow at 9 A.M. Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament

Interment with Military Honors: Mountain Breeze Memorial Gardens, Miami-Superior Hwy, Miami.
