TRW To Train 722 Employees

The Az. Dept. of Commerce & City of Mesa presented TRW with an Arizona Job Training Grant for $395,080. TRW is among the world’s 10 largest automotive suppliers, & will use the funds to upgrade the skills of 722 employees.

"The objective of the Program is to align training & education to support innovative strategies in manufacturing,” says Gov. Janet Napolitano. “This grant not only helps the company & its workers, but strengthens Arizona's standing in the new, knowledge-based economy."

“It's encouraging to see industry taking advantage of this worthwhile opportunity which will help TRW enhance workers’ skills & improve their competitiveness in the global economy,” says Az. Dept. of Commerce Director Gilbert Jimenez. “This program reaches out to working Arizonans to ensure they remain competitive, raise the earnings of workers & boost revenues of businesses in Arizona.”

TRW’s automotive businesses grew & prospered by using advanced technologies, by creating products & services with maximum value, & by meeting customer needs. Companies receiving Commerce Job Training grants have 2 years to complete the training. Employers pay up to half the cost of training existing employees, & up to 25% of the costs of training new employees.
