'Til Mid-January 2007

Starting this past Tuesday, McKellips Road in Mesa was closed to through traffic between Power & Ellsworth roads until mid-January (2007) for accelerated freeway bridge construction. Construction crews are building a new McKellips Road bridge over the Central Arizona Project Canal and the future section of the Loop 202 Red Mountain Freeway. The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) is in the process of building the Red Mountain Freeway between Power Road and US 60. When completed, the bridge will provide 2 lanes in each direction crossing the canal & future freeway. The bridge is part of the construction of the Loop 202 between Power Road & University Drive in east Mesa.
