Suspension Handed Down
Jason Grimsley has been given a 50-game suspension, the now mandatory limit for 1st-time offenders. Although, since being released from the D-backs his agent stated his client is planning on retiring. The suspension can only be effective if he were to continue to play. This comes after Grimsley was caught on the receiving end of 2 self-administering kits of human growth hormone at his Scottsdale home &, after he had stopped cooperating with authorities, his residence was raided last week by 13 agents from the FBI & the I.R.S. The search was for performance-enhancing drugs & records that could possibly implicate him & perhaps others in this wide-ranging inquiry into the use of performance-enhancing drugs in baseball.
