Phelps Dodge Declares Common Shares Dividend

Today, the Phelps Dodge Corp. board of directors announced a dividend of 20 cents per share on the common shares of the corporation. The dividend is payable on Sept. 1st, 2006, to common shareholders of record at the close of business on Aug. 14th, 2006.
