Brins Fire
The human caused Brins Fire is Located 1 mile north of Sedona, with 1,500+ acres burned with 5% contained. Personnel is at 457 fighting this blaze. No structures have been lost. Predicted Weather: Hot & dry conditions will continue, temperatures are expected to be in the upper-90s with relative humidity levels in the single digits. Winds are expected to be from the southwest at 8 to 10 mph. Steep & inaccessible terrain & thick, brushy conditions continue to hinder firefighting efforts. However, progress was made at the fire’s heel & flanks. Twelve aircraft worked the fire today. That included 8 helicopters & 4 airtankers. The Brins Fire burned very actively on top on Wilson Mountain. From Wilson Mountain, it backed slowly down drainages in some areas. It moved into Oak Creek Canyon. However, it is not moving laterally up or down the canyon. Last night, firefighters continued to patrol evacuated communities. Today, firefighters will continue focusing on structure protection in the evacuated areas & building containment lines. Aircraft will continue working to limit growth at the fire’s head.
