Arizona’s Inter Tribal Council Assistant Director Joins WIFA B.OD.
Gov. Napolitano has appointed Arizona Inter Tribal Council Assistant Director Alberta Tippeconnic to the Water Infrastructure Finance Authority (WIFA) Board of Directors. She will serve on the board as a tribal rep. & serve at the Governor’s discretion for a 5-year term.
"I am proud to appoint Alberta Tippeconnic to the WIFA Board of Directors,” said Gov. Napolitano. “She'll be an excellent rep. of Arizona’s Tribal nations on the WIFA Board.”
WIFA Board members award financial & technical assistance to eligible political subdivisions, private water systems & Indian tribes for the construction, acquisition & improvement of wastewater treatment & drinking water facilities & other related water quality facilities & projects.
"Alberta Tippeconnic is a great addition to the WIFA Board. WIFA is continuing to expand our financial assistance partnerships with Tribes throughout Arizona & Alberta will help with that effort,” said WIFA Chairman Steve Owens, who's also director of the A.D.E.Q.
"I'm very excited to be joining the WIFA Board of Directors,” said Tippeconnic. “WIFA has an outstanding reputation & record of work throughout Arizona, including making the 1st loan from a state revolving loan fund to an Indian Tribe in the county. I look forward to working with the Board to increase WIFA’s partnerships with Arizona’s Tribes & Alberta will help with that effort.”
