Congratulations Arizona! The State is now #1 in economic growth. According to the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis, gross state product, which measures the output produced by labor & capital, increased 8.7% to nearly $198 billion from $182 billion from 2004 to 2005. Between 2003 & 2004, Arizona's increase was 4.2%, & it ranked 26th in the United States. The boost was fueled by construction, followed by state & local government, health care, retail trade, administrative services,finance/insurance & durable goods.
