State Transportation Board Awards Contracts
The Arizona State Transportation Board approved eight projects totaling $11.5 million at its May 19 meeting in Safford. The projects will begin in June and are scheduled for completion during the summer of 2006.
Apache County:
SR 264 Reconstruction – Work on the $634,000 project will be done by Hatch Construction & Paving, Inc. & will take place within the town of Ganado on SR 264. It will reconstruct the turnout for Hubbell Trading Post & repave & add turn 2 lanes at the Ganado Chapter House turnout.
Coconino County:
I-40 Repaving – C & E Paving & Grading, LLC was awarded the $222,000 project will repave I-40 east of the City of Williams. The work consists of replacing damaged pavement & pavement markings.
Navajo County:
SR 87 Improvements - Meadow Valley Contractors was awarded at $1.4 million contract to retrofit a bridge, extend a box culvert & pipe culvert on SR 87 one mile south of Winslow. Additional work includes replacing existing pavement markings & sign installation.
SR 277 Scour Protection – A $580,000 project to construct a reinforced concrete floor beneath the existing bridge over Cottonwood Wash on SR 277 within the Town of Snowflake was awarded to Show Low Construction.
Santa Cruz County:
SR 19B Repaving – A $2.2 million project will take place on SR 19B within the City of Nogales was awarded to Granite Construction Company. The project consists of removing the existing pavement & replacing it with new rubberized asphalt. Additional work includes replacing the existing pavement markings & signal detectors.
Yavapai County:
SR 89 Improvements - Fann Contracting, Inc. will start work on the $1.8 million project on SR 89 between Prescott & Wickenburg in June. The project consists of applying an overlay to existing pavement & the extension of 2 box culverts.
