CoppeRX Card Available To Every Arizonan
Yesterday, Gov. Napolitano announced the Arizona CoppeRX Card (pronounced: Copper Card) is now available to every Arizonan. The CoppeRX Card is a free prescription drug discount card that is an on-going service of the state of Arizona.
Created by Governor Napolitano in 2003, the CoppeRX Card began as an option for more than 50,000 Arizona seniors & others on Medicare. To date, over 54,000 Arizonans carry CoppeRX Cards & have saved almost $15 million on the cost of prescription drugs. More than 150,000 brochures will be distributed this week to approximately 750 participating pharmacies, community health centers & Arizona Dept. of Economic Security (DES) Offices. Prescription discounts range from 15% to 55%, depending on prescription medication.
Each brochure contains a temporary card for initial use. Once a temporary card is used at a pharmacy, a permanent one will be mailed to the prescription purchaser. Arizonans on the Medicare part D prescription drug plan must check to see if medications purchased using the CoppeRX Card can count toward out-of-pocket costs. A copy of the CoppeRX Card brochure is attached. For more info about the Arizona CoppeRX Card, visit copperxcard or call RxAmerica at (888) 227-8315.
