After failing to qualify for the Coca-Cola 600 at Lowe's Motor Speedway, Michael Waltrip transfered his No. 55 & NAPA sponsorship onto the car for today's race. Instead of risking his streak of 261 straight starts in jeopardy Waltrip. But Cope, who did make the field, sold Waltrip his Dodge so Waltrip could be in the race. Michael Waltrip received permission from NASCAR to have his car repainted 55. He was originally supposed to be 74 after purchasing his ride from Derrike Cope.
