BCBSAZ & Phoenix F.D. To Promote Water & Fire Safety
As of today, Phoenix-area residents will see an important message on Valley fire trucks. In a partnership with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona (BCBSAZ), the Phoenix Fire Dept. is heightening awareness of the importance of smoke alarms & seriousness of water safety using public service posters appearing on the rollup doors of 10 Phoenix Fire Dept. trucks. The 3 1/2-foot by 4-foot signs will be on both sides of the fire engines, reading in Spanish on one side & English on the other. The tag line gets to the matter: Water safety & smoke alarms save lives.
Representatives from the Phoenix Fire Dept. worked with Element Design, which donated its time & creative talents to the production of the posters. The water safety message reads, "Watch & Listen At All Times!" The smoke alarm's message is, "3 a.m. Not The Time To Check Your Smoke Alarm!" The posters closely tie to the safety issues highlighted on the United Phoenix Fire Fighter Web site, www.SaveRKids.org. The 10 fire trucks that feature the awareness posters are assigned to fire stations throughout Phoenix.
