Arizonans Invited To Sign Gas Price Petition

Governor Janet Napolitano is inviting Arizonans to sign petitions urging the White House & Congress to take action on gas prices. The petitions are now available on the Governor’s Web site, at www.azgovernor.gov. The petitions will be collected & sent to Washington, letting federal lawmakers & President Bush know that high gas prices are having a real impact on family budgets, & citizens demand action. Gas prices have soared to more than $3 per gallon in recent weeks, at the same time major oil companies are announcing record profits.

“It is outrageous that citizens are paying more for a tank of gas every time they fill up at the pump,” said Napolitano. “This is 1 of the many issues that affect Arizonans & our country and should be addressed in a comprehensive & immediate fashion.”
