Arizona Democratic Party Elects New Chairman

On Saturday, the Arizona Democratic Party elected David Waid as its new Chairman at its state committee meeting in Phoenix. Waid had been the party’s Executive Director since January, 2005. "I am honored and humbled by this weekend’s vote,” said Waid. “This is going to be an exciting year for Arizona Democrats, & I plan to hit the ground running.” Last month’s Arizona Democratic Party Chairman Harry Mitchell stepped down to challenge Rep. J.D. Hayworth (R-Ariz.) in Arizona's 5th Congressional District.
