6,000 On The Border

In President Bush's speech last night that he would order as many as 6,000 National Guard troops to secure the U.S. border with Mexico & urged Congress to give millions of illegal immigrants a chance at citizenship. The troops would not detained the illegal's but merely assist Border Patrol agents with providing intelligence gathering, surveillance & other administrative support. Guard troops would still be armed & authorized to use force to protect themselves.
