2006 Conference On Aging
As part of "Older Americans Month," Gov. Janet Napolitano will host the 2006 Conference on Aging, a 3-day program focused on issues affecting Arizona’s senior population. The conference is scheduled for May 22nd–24th, & will feature panelists, information sessions, interactive displays, community resources & other exhibits. The event is at the Marriott Mesa Hotel & Convention Center in downtown Mesa.
Hugh Downs, will give the opening keynote address & introduce the Governor at the Older Americans Month Luncheon. The Governor’s Conference on Aging features sessions geared toward professionals working in the senior community, seniors, their families, businesses dealing with an aging workforce, legal & financial matters, caregiving, community living, healthy aging, & work & volunteerism. There will also be a Mature Worker Job & Volunteer Fair on the last day of the conference.
The public is welcome to attend this informative conference. Registration is $125 for the general public & professionals & $35 for seniors. There are a limited number of scholarships for seniors who would like to attend, but are financially unable to pay.
