Weekend Freeway Restrictions

Westbound Loop 202 in the East Valley will be closed between Alma School Road & the Loop 101 from 9 p.m. today to 5 a.m. Monday for rubberized asphalt paving. In addition, the east & westbound Loop 202 ramps to north & southbound Loop 101 will be closed. The westbound Loop 202 on ramps at Dobson, Alma School & McKellips roads will be closed. Drivers should use detour routes, including westbound McKellips Road to southbound Loop 101 to return to the westbound Loop 202. Drivers also are encouraged to use westbound US 60 & I-10 as an alternate route to reach the downtown Phoenix area.

The Loop 101 will be closed in both directions between Camelback Road and Glendale Avenue from 1 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Saturday for bridge construction at Maryland Avenue. The northbound Loop 101 on ramps at Indian School and Camelback roads and the southbound on ramps at Glendale and Northern avenues will be closed. Drivers are encouraged to exit the freeway well in advance of the closure and use 91st or 99th avenues as alternate north-south routes in the area.

Eastbound Loop 202 will narrowed to 2 lanes between Scottsdale Road & McClintock Drive from now to 10 a.m. Saturday & from 10 p.m. Saturday to 10 a.m. Sunday for pavement work. The eastbound Loop 202 on ramp at Scottsdale Road will be closed during the Saturday night/Sunday morning restriction. Drivers should give themselves extra travel time, be prepared to slow down & merge safely when approaching the work zone.
