Southwest Homeland Security Conference
At 9 a.m. tomorrow, at the Phoenix Civic Plaza in South Lobby (Lobby 2), Hall E on 111 North 3rd Street, Gov. Janet Napolitano will deliver welcoming remarks at the Southwest Homeland Security Conference. The 2-day conference, April 18th - 19th, will be the 1st ever gathering of homeland security & emergency management officials from the 7 southwestern states dedicated to discussing common homeland security issues.
Hosted by the Arizona Office of Homeland Security, the conference will bring together homeland security directors, 1st responders, emergency managers & other public safety officials representing Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas & Utah. Presentations & panel discussions will focus on the theme of the conference, “Securing the Southwest – Together”.
The 2-day conference will include presentations on border security, homeland security efforts across state boundaries, catastrophic preparedness, & the Native American community & homeland security.
