Payson Telemarketing Scam

Residents have contacted & complained to Payson's Fire Dept. regarding "rude" telemarketers that are doing fund-raising for the Associated Fire Fighters of Arizona & that some of the funds people send in will benefit the Payson Fire Dept. Chief Martin deMasi stated, "They do the Toys for Tamales & Christmas for Kids program, but none of that is over the phone." Regarding the company deMasi noted that, AFFA is a legitimate organization that assists volunteer fire departments in the state. If you get any calls from the organization, hang up & call the real AFFA at (520) 235-7443 or (520) 235-0189 to verify the solicitation.
