New Regional Communications Center Opening
Tomorrow, Frank Navarette, Director of the Arizona Office of Homeland Security, will represent Gov. Janet Napolitano at the official opening of a new Regional Communications Center in the Santa Cruz County’s Sheriff’s Office with a tour at 9:45 a.m. & remarks at 10 a.m. Funded with federal homeland security grants issued through the Arizona Office of Homeland Security, this center enables 1st responders in the border region to communicate with each other in emergency response efforts. Interoperability is one of Arizona’s primary homeland security initiatives and is one of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s seven national homeland security priorities. The location is at the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office at 1250 N. Hohokam Drive in Nogales, Arizona.
