Kristofferson will be the recipient of the prestigious Johnny Mercer Award at the 2006 Songwriters Hall of Fame Awards dinner on June 15th in New York City. The award goes to a songwriter who's already been inducted into the Hall & Kristofferson will be among the ranks of past recipients such as Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder, & Carole King. Previously announced inductees for this year are Thom Bell, Mac Davis, Will Jennings, Sylvia Moy, & Henry Cosby.
