Bonnie Owens Has Died

Bonnie Owens, the former wife of Bucks Owens & Merle Haggard, has died at a hospice in Bakersfield, California, at the age of 76 from Alzheimer's. Bonnie was 1st married to Buck, but later married Merle Haggard & then later, Fred McMillan. She met Buck in Mesa in the mid '40s when she was a teenager & he had a local radio show. When Owens discovered that she could sing, he helped her get a job with him on another radio show in 1947.
