Wildland Firefighters Back In School

Wildland firefighters are back in school to prepare for the upcoming fire season at the Southwest Engine Academy in Mesa. The schooling focuses on standardizing the equipment, operations & maintenance that engine crews will use during the upcoming fire season. The academy is being hosted at the Mesa Public Safety Training Facility in cooperation with the Mesa Fire Department. Tomorrow, from 8 a.m. to noon, students will be practicing their engine skills before their final testing.
