SR 188 Construction Alert Breakdown

SR 188 Wheatfields mile post 218.8 to 215, paving will commence tomorrow & once completed, guardrail installation & other final construction will continue. Traffic will not shift to the newly paved section until April, at that time construction will shift to the previously used traffic lanes. The traffic shift will begin at the Kilmers store area & will be shifted to the East side of the existing highway. One lane each way will be maintained to allow the construction crew to construct a mechanically stabilized retaining wall along Pinal Creek & widen the roadway.

From the Copper Cities Mine turn out, North & Southbound traffic will be transitioned from the East side of the roadway to the west. From milepost 217.6 to 215.1, traffic will continue on the west side of the existing highway. This will allow the crew to widen the existing Miami Wash Bridge 24 feet & to widen the roadway. One lane of traffic will be maintained.

The scheduled contruction work hours are Monday thru Friday 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted.
