New Pima County Superior Court Appointee
Gov. Napolitano announced she has selected Tucson lawyer Gustavo Aragon, Jr. to join the Pima County Superior Court. Mr. Aragon will take a newly created position on the bench. Mr. Aragon did his undergraduate work at Stanford, & at the University of Arizona & earned his Juris Doctor from the U of A in 1977. From 1979 - 1985, Mr. Aragon was a prosecutor for the Pima County Attorney’s Office. In recent years, he's specialized in personal injury litigation, focusing in his current practice on plaintiff’s litigation. Mr. Aragon has served on the Supreme Court’s committee on character & fitness & committee chairman in 2002. He has done pro-bono legal work throughout his career, & for 21 years, has served as a volunteer for the Pima County Bar Association’s Pro Bono Representation of Indigents program. During the course of his volunteer work he's represented more than 20 indigent defendants in litigation. In 1995 he was Pima County's Pro Bono Attorney of the Year.
